Transfers in Quito
To travel through the city of Quito, is not an excessively complicated task. An efficient taxi service (all the units count with taximeters), a quiet trolleybus (that crosses the city from pole to pole) and the tens of buses (that appear from everywhere), facilitate the task of the traveller.
Now, if you do not want to use the units of public transport, you can contact the travel agencies that offer efficient services of City tours, at quite reasonable prices; or you can also rent a vehicle.
For the excursions outside the city, a similar situation appears. You will have to choose between doing it on your own or to trust on a travel agency.
If you choose the first option, you will have to do the following thing. In order to go to La Mitad del Mundo, go to the America avenue (in the new city) and wait for the buses that go to this attractive place (read the sign located in the front window of the vehicle).
If the destiny is Otavalo, the departure point will be the terrestrial terminal (located in Villa Flora) place in which you will approach the bus, that will take you to the famous Indigenous market.
The terrestrial terminal, also will be the departure point for your excursion to Cotopaxi. In this case, the most recommendable thing is to transfer first to Machachi (one hour from Quito) and rent in the square, a light truck that transfers you to the entrance of the National Park.
